IAD (Instructor Assisted Deployment) Ground School and 1st jumpfrom $165.00

IAD stands for "Instructor Assisted Deployment." Your first jump starts off with a 5-6 hour ground school where you will learn the basics of skydiving, exit, canopy flight, and emergency procedures. Your first five jumps (minimum) are with an instructor who will hold your pilot chute during your climb out. Once you release from the aircraft the instructor will release your pilot chute into the airstream which will assist in opening your main parachute...hence "Instructor Assisted Deployment." Once your parachute is open you begin the canopy flight. An instructor on the ground will have direct radio contact with you during your canopy flight and will assist in guiding you back to the landing area. Your first five jumps will be made from around 4,000 feet. As your jump numbers increase your altitude and free fall time will also increase. By your 10th jump you will likely be leaving the aircraft from 10,000 feet or higher. After completing categories A-E with a minimum of 14 jumps you will be cleared to jump without an instructor. By the time you reach jump number 20 you should be qualified for your A license.
